September's exhibition was a massive success. The preview evening went
very well with over 300 people attending including the Mayor and
Mayoress of both Kettering and Northampton. Dick Tilley of Spirits of
Wood kept people enthralled with his wood carving display which he
later set fire to keeping everyone warm as well! The remains can now
be seen in the Hall gardens and in the photo above.
The hall and stableyard were filled with music all evening. A band and
guitarist were playing in the stableyard and inside a classical
pianist filled the hall with music. Food and wine were supplied by our
sponsors, Wicksteed Park. The three weekends of the exhibition were
very well attended with people commenting on how good the standard of
work was and how varied.
Brian Taylor, Carolyn Bushell and Tony Luck's combined exhibition at
the Alfred East Gallery in Kettrering got underway with a preview
evening on 2nd June 2006. Lots of people attended, lots of wine was
drunk and a great curry was had by some of us afterwards. The artist's
work all looked amazing and a great evening was had by all.
'Explore Northamptonshire' Exhibition - May 2006
Wicksteed Park kindly gave us a marquee to hold a small exhibition of
Barton Hall Studios artists work in. Sadly the rain came down but our
spirits weren't dampened and we had a great weekend. Mick Henson's
'Iron Man of Steel' was a great success with the children.
Our
spring exhibition took place over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.
The preview evening was very well attended with nibbles provided by
Wicksteed Park and the wine flowed freely. The weekend was very
successful with plenty of sales and very good contacts made. Here is
just a sample of work on display and some of the artists studios.
