John, a pharmacist by profession, has always
been a lover of watercolour landscapes in an impressionistic style.
Following time spent in Paris with a Bohemian group of artists and
film-makers, and always interested in new ideas, John was inspired to
venture into more abstract and semi-abstract paintings.
He still finds these diverse styles can be
enjoyable in different ways, while also being equally challenging to him;
and as his artwork has grown in recent years, has held many successful
exhibitions around Northamptonshire where he lives, and further afield too.
Currently, John is painting a collection of
colourful pictures on alternative supports (as well as paper and canvas),
achieving unique and quite unusual results.
