I create installations in a given space as I feel that a piece that is
considerate of its surroundings is a better starting place for dialogue than
one that is imposed. I try to create works that are sublime, serene and
evoke a sense of calm, and are generally rooted in philosophical ideals. I
like to see my pieces as three dimensional paintings, with the canvas being
either a specific site or structure and I use materials as paint, to give
blocks of colour that change and interrelate with each other. Physically, my
work is visibly delicate yet has a strong presence due to scale and form.
Pieces are often weatherproof and can be installed outside. All the examples
shown in my gallery are made from elastic, used to draw straight lines in
space.
