Where Northamptonshire artists and designers can develop their art

2D Artist
With having a keen interest in interiors, I went to college to study decorative techniques and interior design. It was there I learnt to recreate marble. The spontaneous process involved in this has taken me further towards an art perspective that satisfies my love of design and interiors alike. Influenced by colours and textures, inspired by natural materials and the seasons, I produce original mirrors and pieces of art to complement modern, minimalist and traditional settings.

A choice on techniques, materials and colours can come from anything around me at the time. A decision as to size and style I make by visualising where I see a piece hanging in the home. I can design to specification although each piece is unique and brings harmonious qualities with its blending and softened edges.

I am currently exploring new direction with the use of stripes and blocks, the contrast of sharp, clean lines with the softness and smooth finish. My aim is to incorporate more natural materials in my work and the possibility of the use of texture. I would like to look at the reaction of the elements on different materials with a view to using these in my future work. I feed of the comments and responses from colleagues and the viewing public. This enables me to develop my work. Though it is essential that I am completely happy and a piece of work is not finished until then.
