I have worked a lot with recycled paper back
books and with a combination of sewing and dipping in wax, making
3-Dimentional forms.
I have also worked a lot with wire structures
that I then drape with bonded fibres. Conceptually, my work is quite
sensitive and includes using metaphors to explore human interaction and
development. Here I work a lot from natural forms.
I have also looked at the contradiction
between protection and restriction, both within individuals and within wider
society. Again, I use natural forms such as seed heads, shells and butterfly
cocoons to explore this concept.
I like to use text in my work and have made
several studies of calligraphy from around the world.
